ULTRA RARE Blue Layered huge sea Glass Bead, Like German Marble!

  • £120.00

Rare treasure! This bead is absolutely outstanding - it's a blue and white drawn glass bead with layers like the Ocean. The bead is a barrel shape, dating to approx. 1930s and was found on a tiny beach in world famous Seaham/ England. Due to the handmade process involved in making this bead, it has slightly pinched sides.

This is an absolute stunner of a beach found bead. There is a clear layer on top of the blue and white layers and it's full of C marks - marks that are left on sea glass when a piece hits a rock. Each time this bead hit a rock in the Sea, it left a little mark...

The bead reminds me of a German Onion Skin latticcino core marble!

Set in sterling silver - comes with an 18" sterling silver chain. If you would like a longer sterling silver chain just let me know ( there is no extra cost - chains are available in 16/18/20/22 or 24"_

Bead is approx 1.7cm long!!! - on 18" sterling silver chain - the bead is the size of a small grape!

All pictures taken inside without flash.

Seaham is on the East Coast of England, near Durham and Newcastle. During the Victorian times until 1890s fabulous art glass artisan manufacturing took place in Seaham. At the end of each day small amounts of coloured glass was melted together and given to the Sea... nowadays these end of day pieces of sea glass get washed ashore. Some pieces have shades of the same colour, others are rainbow coloured.
