SHIPPING

I ship MONDAYS & THURSDAYS. All items are gift wrapped in tissue paper, organza bag, personalised envelope and send inside a bubble wrap and extra taped envelope.

Please opt for tracked shipping so you always know where your parcel is.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MY ORDER TO ARRIVE?

Orders to the US take approx. 10-14 working days, i.e. 2 weeks.
Orders to Canada take approx. 3-5 weeks.
Orders to Europe take approx. 5 working days.
Orders within the UK are send out Royal Mail First Class.

I will mark your item as shipped on the actual posting day.

Shipping times are approximate and average times have been taken from thousands of orders. However your parcel might be faster or slower. During busy times like Christmas I highly recommend to order as early as possible to avoid disappointment!

If your order has not arrived after 4 weeks since it was posted, please get in touch and let me know. Unless you purchased a shipping upgrade to Tracked and the parcel was sent to a wrong recipient by the carrier the order will not be refunded ( if you have submitted a wrong address or did not collect your parcel from the local post office no refunds will be given). If you are unhappy with your item and would like to return it in unworn condition - please send it back to me after messaging me. Once I have received your unworn item I will refund you the purchase price minus shipping.

It will take approx 10-14 working days for parcels to reach the US. If you have opted for tracked & signed shipping you will be able to see where your parcel is!

TRACKING: All international order are sent tracked so you can always see where your parcel is. It may be held in customs (that's normal!) before it continues its way to you. Shipping times are approximate times, taken as an average from hundreds of parcels. Sometimes a parcel reaches the US within 1 week, other times it can take up to 4 weeks - but the average is 10-14 working days. Keep in mind that CHRISTMAS is a very busy time for post and parcels may take longer to arrive.

If you have ordered something for a particular day ( Birthday/Christmas/Anniversary etc.) I recommend to opt for the tracked and signed shipping option for piece of mind. Items that have been ordered after the official Christmas cut off dates ( recommended last shipping dates) will not be refunded should they arrive too late.

FAQ's

Are you looking for a special piece, something CUSTOM made?

Please message me, if you see a design you like but would love it in a different colour and we can work towards a design that is 100% for you! Some of my designs are one off a kind pieces, some are part of a collection (Spring/Summer or Autumn/Winter). It might not be possible to recreate a sold design, but it is worth a try - so just message me! Many of my designs can be customised, ie length of chain can be shortened or made longer, sea glass colours can be changed from white to sea foam, or green etc.

Email me: tiliabythesea@gmail.com

Special requests / WEDDINGs

Should you have requests for bridal jewellery (all white) or for more than one piece, ie bridesmaids and bride necklaces, bracelets, earrings etc I will give a small discount that will need to be discussed prior to the order being placed. Larger orders might take between two-three weeks to complete, depending upon the quantity of items needed. In general custom requests take approx 1-2 weeks to complete. Orders will be send out Mo or Thu.

Where is my glass from and what is it like?

I only use sea glass with a 100% frosted surface. You will not find shiny areas, unless it is a very rare colour like turquoise or a large piece of blue for example, where pieces with less frosting get considered - this will be mentioned in the description. Sea glass that is very rounded and has developed a good frosting is approx 80-100 years old. Shells used are also found at the beach and are sourced when they are not alive. Most of my sea glass is collected in the Kingdom of Fife. Each piece of jewellery is made in my small studio in Cupar by myself. Within the description I note where the sea glass is from.

How do I make my sea glass more vibrant?

If you would like the sea glass colours to be a little bit more vibrant, you can rub a tiny dash of unscented oil on the surface or even just touch the sea glass. Wearing sea glass on your skin will add a more satin finish, as the oils from the skin get absorbed by the glass. The frosting is still there, and be brought back by gently washing the sea glass.

Clean and care

Silver plated and / or glued (i.e. Fairy, Studs)
The glue I use is a jewellery grade adhesive, slightly elastic and waterproof, but I do not recommend any items being worn in the shower or pool. To clean, please use jewellery silver cleaning cloths or warm water and soap. Gently wash the item in your hands. Do not use other cleaners, it may damage the glass and change the appearance of the piece.
Sterling silver
Please only use anti tarnishing cloths. Do not use dipping solutions or harsh cleaners, as this might damage the sea glass. Please keep your jewelry in air tight zip-loc bags when not wearing as this will slow the tarnishing process.
Always keep in mind that you now own a piece of sea glass jewellery, handle with care, it's glass after all!

Folklore

Every time a sailor drowns, a mermaid cries. Her tears get washed ashore and are called Mermaid's Tears. All sea glass is referred to as Mermaid's Tears. My signature necklace with 9 pieces of sea glass and leaf bail takes its name from this folklore.

Will I receive the item pictured?

Unique items like rare Ohajiki - yes. Earrings in sea foam/white/green/brown are custom made and your earrings are as unique as you are! If there are more than 1 pieces available you will receive an item very close to the listing picture. Not happy with this? Message me and I will send you a picture of the item you will receive.

Who will pack my TiliabytheSea jewellery?

TiliabytheSea is a one woman venture. I (Nicole) will personally pack each item in tissue paper, then place it in an organza bag and then in a personalised envelope with a Thank you note to you - then the envelope gets placed inside a bubble wrap envelope, with extra tape.

I love the earrings in the jewelry set - can I just buy the earrings?

Please message me - usually yes, if it is a Seaham set and pairing is difficult maybe not - but it's always worth asking.

Questions?

Message me with any questions you might have regarding a piece of jewellery you see. More photos, info where the sea glass is from, sizes etc. - just get in touch!
